No matter the season, Bow Habitat Station is a unique destination for groups of all ages and abilities. From Scouts and Guides to seniors, and even corporate teams, there’s something for every group. Dive into a truly unforgettable experience!

Booking a Group Program

Availability of group programs and admission rates are subject to capacity. To be eligible, programs must be booked and paid in advance.

Special Group Admission Rates

Take advantage of this special group rate as you explore through five galleries of hands-on exhibits to discover the incredible aquatic ecosystems of Alberta, and marvel at over 20 Alberta fish species in the Aquariums.

Recommended Time: 1.0-1.5 hr

Cost: $75 for the first group of up to 15 people; $25 for each additional group of up to 5 people thereafter.

Add on to your Discovery Centre visit with our iconic fish feeding experience.

Cost: $2 per person

  • Sept-May: Fridays and Saturdays only

Embark on a journey behind the scenes to find out what it takes to raise over a million trout each year from egg to alevin and fry. Uncover the role fish stocking plays in keeping fish a part of Alberta’s future. Plus, take part in the iconic fish feeding experience.

Cost: $75 per group of up to 20 people

  • Those looking to dive deeper into the working environment of fish hatcheries
Youth Group Programs

Designed to allow the most flexibility in your visit, this package offers a classroom for a homebase, the iconic guided fish feeding experience and a chance to explore the Discovery Centre and Aquariums at your own pace. 

Availability: Year-Round, Tuesdays through Saturdays
Type of Visit: Half-day (max. 2.5 hr); Choose from morning (9:30-12:00) or afternoon (12:30-3:00)
Cost: $250 per group
Group size: Maximum of 26 youth and 4 adult supervisors

Designed for younger fish enthusiasts, Trout Training Camp includes three staff-led activities to complement a half-day visit. This fish focused program is divided into three 20-minute sections, designed to keep busy little brains engaged and curious. Activities include play-based learning through a trout life cycle story, guided exploration of the Aquariums and the iconic fish feeding experience.

Availability: Jan-Jun 2026, Tuesdays through Fridays
Type of Visit: Half-day (max. 2.5 hr); Choose from morning (9:30-12:00) or afternoon (12:30-3:00)
Cost: $295 per group
Group size: Maximum of 24 youth and 6 adult supervisors

Designed for mixed-age groups or older students, this funny, fast-paced, fish-focused program is divided into three 20-minute sections to keep learning fresh and engaging. Activities include a theatrical Build-A-Trout to uncover basic fish anatomy and adaptations, guided exploration of the Aquariums and the iconic fish feeding experience in the Fish Hatchery to show fish science at work.

Availability: Jan-Jun 2026, Tuesdays through Fridays
Type of Visit: Half-day (max. 2.5 hr); Choose from morning (9:30-12:00) or afternoon (12:30-3:00)
Cost: $295 per group
Group size: Maximum of 26 youth and 4 adult supervisors

Meeting Room Rental

Looking for a unique location to host an upcoming team building event or meeting? Meeting room rentals include:

  • Discovery Centre and Aquarium admission at a reduced group rate
  • A 30-minute Guided Fish Hatchery Tour
  • Private classroom space with tables and chairs for up to 25 adults

Availability: Oct-Dec 2025 or Jan-Jun 2026, Tuesdays through Fridays; Choose from morning (9:30-12:30) or afternoon (12:30-3:30)
Cost: $300 per group
Group size: Maximum of 25 adults

Please note that the meeting organizer is responsible for bringing their own technology components and coordinating any catering needs. There is no on-site catering at Bow Habitat Station.

FAQs

Yes, to be eligible for group rates and secure your booking payment must be received in advance. Review our Program Policies for details.

Yes, group rates are available for the Discovery Centre and Aquariums for groups of 15 or more for half-day (2.5 hour) visits.

Bookings including classroom spaces are for no more than 2.5 hours. There is limited space inside Bow Habitat Station for lunch. Please note that bookings including classroom spaces may be occupied for no more than 2.5 hours.

Indoor and outdoor tables are available on a first-come, first-serve basis with a limited timeframe of no more than 30-minutes at any table. For larger groups of 29 or more, we kindly ask you make plans in advance to arrive/depart closer to your planned programming time.

There is limited space for storage of personal belongings for public visitors.

We recommend all participants keep their belongings with them outside of their scheduled Bow Habitat Station program.

Valuables should be kept with you at all times.

The picnic tables outside Bow Habitat Station’s entrance and within the Trout Pond are for shared, public use on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please note the Trout Pond is closed to public use October 1-April 30.

Picnic sites within Pearce Estate Park can be booked through the City of Calgary.

At this time, programs are exclusively offered in English. While we do not have language interpretation services of translators at our site, you are welcome to bring your own if available.
